This Speedster was imported new through Max Hoffman Automobiles in New York City and sold to its first owner a California resident. Early history is unknown, but this Speedster made its way to Australia in the early 1990’s by Mr. B. Jones.

This Speedster was subsequently driven as is until mid 2002 when it was sold to Mr. P. Kazacos a Sydney resident and noted Porsche enthusiast well known for his numerous concour accolades within the Australian Porsche Club. The Speedster was entrusted to noted restorers 911 Cars and Morton Automotive for a complete and thorough restoration. When the paintwork was stripped to bare metal the body was found to be in exceptionally good condition with little or no rust and just a minor dent in the front. Every panel is stamped and original to this 356. It has been refinished in desireable Silver rather than its original Ruby Red color as originally delivered from the factory. The restoration was completed in 2004.

The Speedster was taken to the 2005 National Porsche Concours event in Melbourne where it won the Gold Class award, a testament to the extremely high quality of restoration.

In 2009 the Speedster was purchased from Mr. Kazacos and thus found a home with another Australian resident, Mr. S. Alexander. Mr. Alexander used the Speedster in a couple of touring rallys in Australia and had the Speedster fully serviced by Rob Fores who consisted to be Melbourne's top 356 specialist. The matching numbers engine and gearbox have been removed (they will be supplied with the purchase of this Speedster) in favor of a “tuned” 912 engine and gearbox for a bit more power and quicker touring pleasure. It has also been fitted with large Solex carbs.

This 356 Speedster recently migrated to Canada along with its owner. Recent updates have included larger diameter Techno Magnesio wheels and new tires, a period Nardi wood steering wheel and the removal of its bumper overiders for a cleaner Carrera Speedster look. Please note the original matching number engine and gearbox will be supplied with this Speedster along with its restored original date stamped 4.5” wheels, moon chrome hub caps, restored bumper overiders as well as its original Bakelite steering wheel.

This 356 has been maintained exceptionally since restoration by Engineered Automotive a very highly respected shop in Toronto. It has been driven sparingly and will be a welcomed addition to any garage-collection.
