MODEL HISTORY
The Porsche 993, launched in 1993, was the latest version of the German company’s classic 911, which stretches all the way back to 1964. It is considered by many fans to be the last of the ‘classic’ 911s, and was the final 911 to be fitted with an air-cooled engine.
In 1995, a Turbo model was released, the first Porsche 911 Turbo with permanent four-wheel-drive and the first standard production 911 with twin turbochargers. The 3.6 litre engine had larger intercoolers, an electronic management system and redesigned cylinder heads. Rear brake discs had an increased diameter compared to the standard Carrera.
Bodywork also differed from the Carrera in a number of ways – wings were widened front and rear, the front spoiler was redesigned for better aerodynamics, and there was a new fixed rear spoiler. 18-inch alloy wheels with hollow spokes to reduce weight were fitted as standard.
During the second to the last year of production of the 993 (1997), Porsche offered the 993 Turbo S. Ultimately just 345 cars were produced of which 183 went to the USA in a lower power specification. The Turbo S is a high-spec Turbo including a power upgrade to 450 hp The 993 Turbo S is recognised by yellow brake calipers, a slightly larger rear wing, a 4-pipe exhaust and air scoops behind the doors. This was the last of the air-cooled Turbos, a bespoke, rare and very limited model at the time.

EXTERIOR
Supplied new in a deep and glossy shade of Arctic Silver this rare Turbo S is in outstanding condition from bonnet to boot. It’s wide arches, turbo scoops and twin rear spoiler give away that this is no ordinary 993 Turbo. The paintwork retains a dazzling lustre with no major marks to note. It (paintwork) remains near original throughout while the rest of the exterior with lights, trim and badges all in excellent condition showing minimal wear over its cosseted life.

INTERIOR
The interior is finished is soft black leather combined with a generous helping of carbon fibre trim. Open either door and you’re met with a brushed aluminium sill plate with its Turbo S designation proudly on display. The electric hard back sports seats are in good condition and provide comfort for cruising but equally as supportive when pushing on.
Carbon fibre covers both door cards, much of the dash, parts of the steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake lever while neatly surrounded by stitched black leather where appropriate. The cabin has a quintessential executive feel, brought about by Porsches exclusive department who have meticulously covered nearly every switch with stitched black leather, the whole interior in fact smells and present as new with tight leather displaying its matt original finish.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The mighty twin turbo power plant compacted into the rear of this 993 is very much in hiding beneath its large Intercooler which dominates the upper engine compartment. 450hp comes from bigger Turbos and a twin exhaust system. With a huge history file documenting regular and thorough maintenance at only the main Porsche dealers, its no surprise this example runs and drives as good as it looks.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 18 inch hollow spoke alloy wheels are finished in their correct Turbo S colour and hide model specific yellow 6 pot brembo calipers. All of the wheels remain in good condition and present well in much of their original finish. Tyres are matching all round, premium Yokohama with plenty of tread.
