Fantastic and rare TI Super with FIA papers and road registration. One of only 501 cars made, the TI Super was introduced in 1963 and only built until end of 1964 when the 1600 GTA arrived in 1965. Alfa Romeo needed to make more than 500 cars for the homologation to race the car so they built 501 cars. It is the sport version with lower weight (it has thinner steel panels, lightweight interior and dash, resulting in only 920 kg homologated) and slightly more power due to high lift camshafts, big Weber 45 carburettors etc. Only sold in white with green cloverleaf stickers on the sides. Mesh front grille and Campagnolo light alloy wheels, bucket seats to the front, different dashboard, 3 spoke steering wheel, 5 speed gearbox and disc brakes. Most of these cars were converted to race cars in the past and achieved some great results. This car was sold new to Paris France as a 'Stradale' or street car. From there it went to collector Mr J. Ricord in Nice, French registered 139NW06. He had the car prepared with FIA papers in 1986 to participate in the 1986 Tour de France. In 1987 he finished 8 th in the Rallye des Vins Macon, according to an article in the magazine Auto Passion july 1987. In 1988 he sold the car to an Italian dealer. It was in 1990 bought by well known Alfa Romeo guru Mr P. Zahnd in Switzerland and then bought by the present owner. It received FIA papers again in 1999. The body has been cosmetically restored in the past and is in excellent order and rustfree. The original seats and lightweight rear seat bench come retrimmed in correct material with the car, as are the bumpers and original Campagnolo magnesium wheels. The car has been very well prepared. Mechanically the engine was rebuilt by famous Alfa 'preparatore' C. Facetti in Italy, delivers around 155 bhp we are informed and has only 1000 km since. Weber's 45 fitted. Safety fuel tank fitted with certificate until 2010. Roll cage, twin OMP sport seats and harness belts. The car has big and homologated ATE brakes and has 8/41 short gearing. Suspension is rebuilt. Chassis AR 105.16 595415 and correct engine type AR00516.00xxx. It comes with Swiss road registration and a copy of French certificat de Cession d'un vehicule, copy of FIA papers 1986. Original FIA papers 1999. This car has never been raced since the rebuilt we are informed, only used for track testing and is ready to enjoy on the track or on the road.
