Known History

The registration document for this car notes that it was acquired by its current owner on 1st October 1982 and we are grateful for his diligence in researching the early history of the car.

A copy of the original folding log book that was issued in Birmingham notes the supplying dealer name, Bradbury’s Garage of King’s Heath as the first keeper. In August 1978, the car was acquired by Drury Powder Plant Limited in Birmingham – since dissolved, this company provided powder coating services to the cycle and motor cycle industries in the Midlands.

A rare manual version of the classic V8 saloon, it is finished in a colour that was used extensively in the advertising of the model by Aston Martin with the wonderful strapline of “Don’t just buy a car, have one made!” The car also starred on the front cover of the AMOC magazine cover when it was owned by the next owner, Gerard Keane, then Chairman of the AMOC., who acquired the car on 1st August 1979,

Subject to substantial restoration work by the owner after 10 years of ownership, the car is presented in great order, a reflection of a careful 30 year stewardship.

Many Aston Martin V8’s come to market in excellent condition but with the vagaries of multiple ownership all too evident in their performance. V8/11067/RCA is a cracking opportunity to acquire a car with all the virtues of moderate mileage, long term stewardship and substantial maintenance/restoration during the 30 years with its current owner.

And of course, as a bonus, it is that rare commodity for the enthusiast – a V8 with manual transmission!
