Known History

This 275 GTB/4, serial number 10869, is the 295th example of 330 made in total. It was supplied new in late 1967 or very early 1968 to the franchised dealer Motor S.A.S. of Bologna. Its original livery was argento metallizzato 106-E-1 Salchi w/nero VM8500 leather interior (metallic silvergrey w/black leather interior).

Motor S.A.S. sold it on January 24th, 1968 for 6.500.000,-Lit to the first owner, Luigi Gaetano Maganzani of Imola. He had it registered on February 3rd, 1968 on plate BO 327986.

#10869 didn't stay in its homecountry of Italy very long. In the late 1960's or early 1970's it was exported as a used car to the USA - without cancelling the Italian registration, by the way. In 1971 it was for sale at Luigi Chinetti Motors of Greenwich, CT/USA. At that time - July of 1971 - the original engine was replaced in Chinetti's workshop with the one coming from 275 GTB/4 Alloy s/n 10311.

In September of 1971, Chinetti sold the car to Don Mecca of Port Chester, NY. Mr. Mecca reportedly had the car repainted in black. In the mid-1970's #10869 was brokered by the Chinetti-employee Ivo Brillo to Gary Schaevitz of Bedford, NY, an investment banker. Mr. Schaevitz had it registered on plate "EFH".

In 1977 or 1978 Gary Schaevitz commissioned a repaint in Ferrari red prior to selling it in mid-1978 to Luigi Chinetti Motors of Greenwich, CT.

The following years still deserve some research, but what is for sure is that our 275 GTB/4 was exported to Germany in the late 1970's or early 1980's and sold to Jobst Heemeyer, an engineer living in Tecklenburg. Mr. Heemeyer used to own an entire bunch of 275s at that time.

In 1985 Heemeyer sold #10869 to Jaap Braam-Ruben of Maastricht in the Netherlands who had it registered on plate NH-92-VV. He enjoyed it until December of 1993 when he decided to sell the car via Uwe Meissner's renowned company Modena Motorsport GmbH of Langenfeld/Germany to the last German longterm owner. The latter had the car serviced by Bruno Saft's well-known company BS Sport of Lage/Germany (also responsible for the famous Glńsel collection!).

The body number (A0295) and the gearbox number 710-I have been confirmed as correct by Ferrari Classiche already, the engine was restamped to the original "226/10311". The car is certified by Ferrari Classiche!

#10869 is completely original inside, the leather, the carpets and the headliner show the usual wear. Paint is old, maybe the buyer might like to have it repainted in its fantastically matching original color of metallic silvergrey. All mechanical components work perfectly, the car has been driven just a couple of weeks ago in a major European historic car event. The engine is incredibly strong, the gearbox works perfectly. New brakes. The car comes with the desirable Borrani wire wheels and the original magnesium wheels. The indicated mileage of 93.550 kms could be original. Sorry, no books or tools.

A rare opportunity to acquire a 275 GTB/4 with a very well documented history and with a charming, all-original interior. Eligible for great events as Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, Tour Auto and the like! Fantastic value for money!
