He informs us that this one has had the original transmission replaced with an overdrive unit, and he switched out the original rear end gears with a taller 3:38-1 gear ratio. The overdrive tranny with higher rear end gears allows this truck to effortlessly drive down the highway . While it won’t be setting any land-speed records, this one drives nicely and feels like a much newer classic. The truck has the original transmission and rear end gears available for its next owner.In terms of actual condition, this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 is almost flawless both inside and out. We learned that it has been repainted once over its lifetime and it does have an aftermarket radio installed, but otherwise this one is extremely original from bumper to bumper.
