| In 1938 only 555 "Westchester Suburbans" were produced. This is number 477 and is one of only three remaining. One of the others is modified and the other is a restored original type P6 Suburban. These wonderful station wagons of 1938 were built on the 112" deluxe passenger car chassis by US Body & Forging of Buffalo, New York. White ash framing and Birch paneling make up the exterior and interior wood; the floor of the woodie is done in beautiful oak planking.
Station wagons carved out a unique niche in the 1938 automobile market. They were invariably the owner's second or third vehicle. They often were acquired for use on country estates and summer homes. Occasionally, they were put into light commercial duty.
After some 49,000 miles this automobile underwent a ground-up restoration by the noted sculptor Albert Guibara. It was done to near perfection! This car comes complete with three seats, working radio, two tail lamps, dual sun visors and nearly every piece of 1938 Plumouth literature produced plus repair and owner's manual. All books, manuals and literature and are included with the car.
In the mid-1990s this car was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. It has won many First-in-Class awards at significant car shows in California.
A great opportunity to own a rare and very collectible woodie, awaits an alert and discerning individual. OFFERS
