The Traction Avant, or front wheel drive, was originally designed and produced by CitroŽn in the 1930s and continued to be produced until well after WWII. It had a monocoque, a unit body frame which made it a lighter vehicle. Low-slung with an advanced suspension system, it was also a very fast car at the time. The 11B was a later model, built in two versions, the 11L LťgŤre, or light, model which was the same size as the earlier 7CV, and the normal model 11, which had a longer wheelbase. The main change to the body occurred in 1952 and concerned the protruding boot. This car dates from 1953.
