This option included the following modifications to the RS Basic:

Deletion of interior carpeting, headliner and A/B pillar covering.
Painting of interior to match exterior colour.
Shortened knee padding on lower dashboard to clear roll bar installation if ordered.
Driver's side sun visor only.
Provision to unlock trunk and fuel door from drivers seat
Engine compartment insulation deleted
Six point seat belt for driver and passenger.
DME Brain box moved behind drivers seat (standard location under seats in way of crotch belts mounts).
Hand held fire extinguisher mounted on passenger floor.
Cable activated master switch from inside of car
Recaro SPG bucket seats for passenger and driver.
All the European RS cars have a "Carrera RS" emblem on the deck lid, which is also optionally available on the side of the car as script along the door bottoms.



This car was supplied new as number 135 of the 290 Carrera RS Club sports to a German customer who specified that the RSR bodywork be fitted. In 1998 it was then sold to a surgeon in Germany. In 2000 the car was then imported to the UK by an English ex-works driver predominately for classic rallying. In 2002 the car was shipped to Australia for the Classic Adelaide event where the rear wing was signed by a number of drivers including Jack Brabham, Johnny Herbert and Win Percy.

Around 2005 the car was sold to a performance car club which never took off and in the same year all the cars were bought by a private collector in York. He subsequently kept J41 BAR for his own collection until it was sold to its last owner.
