The competition variant of the legendary Aston Martin DB4, the DB4 GT, was introduced in September 1959. It was based on the race winning prototype DP199/1 which won in its first outing at Silverstone in May 1959 in the hands of Stirling Moss. The DB4 GT was developed for increased performance by making it shorter, lighter, and more powerful than the DB4. Maximum speeds during testing reached 153mph with a zero-to-sixty time of 6.1 seconds. It was also one of the first cars that could go from standstill to 100mph and than brake to a dead stop in less than 20 seconds.

By 1960 the storied coachbuilder Zagato’s fame was at its pinnacle with GT racing and rallying virtually dominated cars wearing its bodies. Upping the ante to compete with the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, the Turinese firm was commissioned to create an even lighter version of the DB4 GT. Legend has it that young Zagato stylist Ercole Spada penned the unmistakable shape in less than a week’s time. A successful design when new, shaving another 45 kilograms from the standard DB4 GT, today it is revered by aficionados as both brutally purposeful and heart stoppingly beautiful. 25 copies were scheduled for production but in the end only 19 were built, due to the higher price of the “DB4 GTZ” on top of the already costly tariff for the DB4 GT.

No two examples were alike, with subtle variations in shape, specification and detailing. Unquestionable the most beloved of all production Astons, the DB4 GTZ remains unmatched for its unique combination of performance, road manners and stunning muscular good looks.

Unlike the other Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato replicas and recreations that have been build in the past, the car offered here is build to perfection and to exact DB4 GT Zagato specifications and quality.
The iconic shape has been perfectly re-created. The base was chosen from the best, a DB4 donor the car is to be fully stripped of all components, back to bare metal body shell. Independent front suspension with wishbones and coaxial coil springs, telescopic dampers, up-grated anti-roll bar, live rear axle with coil springs and telescopic dampers located by four parallel trailing links and a tranverse watt’s linkage, rebuild to exact DB GT’s specifications.
