A superb example that is reportedly nothing short of stunning, the Buick Master Six Brougham Sedan offered here was acquired by the current owner from two brothers, who found the car in the Stockton, California area and restored it over an exhaustive period of 31 years! The entire restoration, which cost nearly $300,000, apparently enlisted the help of about 200 individuals.

The consignor, a dedicated car collector, further confirms that he has never seen a car that exhibits such attention to detail. Many parts were not only re-cast but also hand-formed to match the originals with absolute precision. An artist and engraver were even enlisted to redo the doors’ threshold plates, as each is unique from the others. Since completion of the restoration, the car has been shown at various events across the United States, consistently winning First in Class and Best of Show awards. It also has Senior status with the Buick Club of America as well as the Antique Automobile Club of America (1993).

Strikingly finished in green, the elegant Buick benefits from a plush mohair interior with walnut trim and particularly unique wood dash gauge faces. Other features include bumpers, handsome artillery wheels, etched windwings, a radio receiver, rear heater, bud vases and a leather rear-mounted trunk, to name but a few special details. The car is also accompanied by numerous virtually unobtainable spare parts including electrical items, plated pieces, gaskets and gauges and several original, framed color advertisements. Various books and manuals, from a shop manual to the sales brochure are also included, as is a detailed album detailing the entire restoration and crediting the numerous people involved in its completion.

Driven sparingly by the current owner, the car reportedly runs and drives very well. Above all, it may very well represent a singular opportunity for the dedicated enthusiast, as it is unlikely that another Master Six Brougham Sedan will ever be restored to such exacting standards. In fact, the previous owner believed this to be the only Buick Brougham Sedan of its kind to have been restored – and what a fine example it is.
