Known History

The Ferrari 275 GTS was revealed at the 1964 Paris Auto Show, alongside its hard top name-sake, the 275 GTB. Although in terms of appearance the two cars are clearly distinguishable, mechanically they both carry a similar 3.3-litre Colombo V12 as well as similar chassis and suspension set-ups.

The 275 GTS was the replacement for the outgoing 250 GT Series II Cabriolet and mainly intended for the US market, where the success of high-performance Grand Touring cabriolets had long been established. Further, the 275 GTS is in fact a much rarer vehicle than its Berlinetta sibling, with only 200 examples being made in a short production period.

Completed in 1965, this example left the factory and was, as with the majority of 275 GTS', supplied through Chinetti Motors in the USA. The car is finished in the stunning combination of Giallo over Nero, with the paint in very good order and the seats freshly trimmed. In addition, mechanically, this is one of the strongest examples we have worked on in our Service Centre.

The Ferrari 275 GTS is one of the most beautiful cars to leave Maranello and remains not only a fantastic car to own and drive, but also a strong investment opportunity. With only 200 produced, beautiful matching-number examples such as this are extremely rare on the market, especially in such fantastic all-round condition.
