This is probably the best DBS with the finest specification available anywhere in the world. The 'four headlight' DBS is appreciated by collectors and purists alike for the aesthetics of its design and its desirability as a very usable everyday car. The problem is few have been properly maintained and finding a really good car that will be a joy to own and drive is exceptionally difficult. Since they are relatively inexpensive when compared with their Aston six cylinder peers (the DB4, DB5, and DB6) few undergo the complete restorations they deserve and fewer still are enhanced to the ultimate 'dream' specification; this is just such a car and is probably unique worldwide. Take a DBS with the best specification, RHD, Vantage engine, five speed ZF manual, and power steering, then as well as completing a full 'nut and bolt' rebuild, including stripping the body and rebuilding the chassis, incorporate all the enhancements that Aston Engineering's racing programme has developed for a roadgoing Aston. The engine was bored to 4.2 litres and fitted with forged pistons, Carello rods, lightened crankshaft, and a programmable electronic ignition system with laptop uplink, estimated to produce 340 bhp. Then rebuild the suspension with bespoke Koni shock absorbers, thicker anti-roll bars, special springs, later rear struts and powder coat wherever possible. Improve the cooling system for everyday use. For the brakes, add AP's racing discs and calipers, then replace the original 15" wheels with 16" that have been widened to 7" and epoxy coated. Completely retrim the interior with new leather and carpets and add a stainless steel exhaust system. Such is the specification and condition of this very special car. To do this today would cost almost GBP150,000 without the cost of the donor car, a cost similar to what it would cost to restore its DB siblings. With the values of new exotics dropping like a stone, this is an opportunity to own a timeless classic that can be used everyday and will run with the best of them. Full history, specification, and photographs on request, the car is available for any inspection and a part exchange may be considered.
