The Matra DJet is a two-seater coupé launched in 1962. Originally 198 units were developed and produced 198 by Automobiles René Bonnet. From 1964 they began to be manufactured by Matra.
The Djet V presents a modified body compared to previous models: front air intake, enlarged rectangular, increased luggage compartment, rear extended wheel arches, vertical rear bumpers replaced by horizontal bumpers, Simca 1300/1500 lights instead of heavy round ones.
In 1965, the Djet V came in two versions, standard and luxury (front bumper, instrument panel and steering wheel in wood). From July 1966, the Matra Djet Bonnet 5 came to be called Matra Sports Jet 5, leaving the Bonnet name and D Djet after the liquidation of Automobiles Bonnet and after the end of the agreements that linked it to Matra Sports. The logo "Matra Sports" was then placed on the hood and rear.
This Matra Jet 5 still has the original Portuguese plates. |
