I purchased this car in 2003 and imported it to the USA.

In 2004 the car began a 2-year process of being completely disassembled to the frame, locating paint stripped, rust removed, and body sealed in primer by an authorized Ferrari paint shop. The car was then shipped in 2006 to vintage auto restorer Symbolic Motor Car Company in San Diego where the vehicle underwent a restoration of its entire interior and chassis. The paintwork, interior installation, and mechanical assembly process took an additional 2 1/2 years (Summer 2006 until February 2009). New metal work included upper & lower floors with correct factory style stamping, foot wells, inner/outer rocker panels, fender liners, brass/lead removal, body shaping, trim fitment, and primer. The car was then repainted to its correct and original color which has been confirmed by the build sheet and assistance from Maranello Concessionaires (UK) and Ferrari Historique in Italy. The interior was restored using matched Connolly "vamoul" (antiqued) hides to match the original build sheet (Blu 3015 VM). Correct Wilton wool carpets and padding throughout interior, trunk, and under hood. All firewall components were inspected and items needing refurbishment were either restored or replaced. Details such as incorrect Cibie headlamps were replaced with correct Marchal lamps, trim rings, and buckets as were the Marchal driving lights and trim. All guages were restored, original Blaupunkt radio located, restored, and installed.

All exterior trim was re-chromed, seals have been replaced, a new wiring harness installed, and the car was hand-assembled by Symbolic Motor Car Company at a cost of over $50,000 USD just for the re-assembly stage of the restoration. Symbolic Motor Car Company confirms that the average professional restoration for cars they prepare is $200,000 USD and that a "Pebble Beach" Concours Italiano restoration can often cost $400,000 USD.

The drivetrain and mechanical systems had been previously serviced/rebuilt by Crepaldi of Milan (receipts available) and Lamborghini Dallas replaced all head/intake gaskets, rebuilt all carburetors, replaced the radiator and hoses, new brake master cylinder, and tuned engine for US climate. They also serviced the suspension and braking system to ensure proper working order.

The car was shipped from Symbolic Motor Cars back to Dallas in March 2009, and Boardwalk Ferrari (Dallas) has reinstalled the original engine (#5061) and original gearbox (#1000341) such that the car is ready to ship to a new home.

Over 1,000 man hours spent on this car. Two 330 America's sold for more than $300,000 USD over a year ago (chassis #5121, chassis #5007). This car (#5061) is currently restored to the highest level while still capable of being driven -- it is not a 100 point car, but is exceptional and has been painstakingly restored as one of the approximate twenty surviving 330 America examples. With so much deception in the classic car industry, this car is fully documented and includes a detailed photo library validating all restoration performed.

The 330 America is believed by many to be the finest of all 2+2's Ferrari ever made in terms of classic styling (derived from the 250 GT chassis), limited production figures and overall performance with its 4 litre engine. A massive documentation file will be provided to the new owner, including every receipt, the official Ferrari Data/Build sheet, Warranty card, photo's of the car in 1980's (USA) & 1990's (Europe), as well as a CD-ROM from Symbolic Motor Car Company documenting the restoration. Car comes with its original Borrani spare and original Ferrari tool set.
