320 bhp, 4,390 cc V-12 engine, five-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel independent suspension with unequal-length A-arms, coil springs, tubular shock absorbers and anti-roll bar, and four-wheel power-assisted hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,560 mm (104.2 in.)

Introduced at the Paris Salon in 1967 the 365 GT 2+2 was the largest and most luxurious Ferrari model to date, carrying forward the growing demand for high-speed transport with accommodation for up to four passengers. Designed and constructed by Pininfarina, it had a low-slung fastback design and was the first Ferrari to be equipped with standard power steering and power brakes.

The 365 GT 2+2 presented here was imported new into the United States in December 1969 through the official importer, Luigi Chinetti Motors of Greenwich, Connecticut. It was originally finished in the attractive colour combination of “Celeste Metallizzato” blue with a grey-blue leather interior. Whilst its earliest ownership history is undocumented, in the mid-1990s chassis no. 12945 was imported into Belgium by the company ZBG Services of Antwerp. In February 1996, the car was sold to the company Lusso Service Holland of Duiven, owned by the well-known automotive expert Paul Koot, who in turn sold the car to a collector in the area of Paris, France.

In 2000, Paul Koot purchased the car once more through his company Dakota Holding B.V. of Duiven, Holland, and passed it on to his colleagues Ernst-Jan van Kouwen and Frans Heijstee of Historic Motoring, also of the Netherlands. In July 2002, Historic Motoring sold the car to Manfred Höfler of Pürgen, Germany. An auto mechanic and car dealer by trade, Mr. Höfler repainted the car red and re-trimmed the interior in tan leather. By autumn 2007, chassis no. 12945 had passed into the ownership of the vendor before having its engine overhauled by Eberlein Automobile GmbH of Kassel, the official Ferrari Classiche partner for Germany. The car was refurbished and is now presented in perfect condition, both cosmetically and mechanically.

As offered, it is accompanied by its Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming its authenticity and correctness throughout. Beautifully presented and a true delight to drive, it represents one of the most readIly accessible ways of owning and enjoying one of Ferrari’s classic front-engined grand touring cars from the 1960s.
