Known History

Same owner since 2000, clean car fax. service history. Nice car!!! Car is now listed on ebay with the following link:

1986 Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet Red with tan interior. The final evolution of the Mondial Series cars before they went to the troublesome Mondial T cab. The 3.2 cars represent the best of the series with the extremely reliable 3.2 liter fuel injected V-8 that I consider to be one of the best engines that Ferrari has ever produced in terms of overall reliability, usability and affordability. The larger engine also gives the car a bit more torque making it perform very nicely. The Mondial chassis which has always given better handling than the 308/328 cars with its longer wheel base and cab forward design which allows you to really see the road really performs nicely with the larger engine. On the exterior of the car bumpers are the same color as the body and they are much more integrated into the overall design of the body, so unlike earlier examples they don't stick out on the USA versions as much. The whole package really works very nicely together.

This particular example is red with a tan interior. It has 52,870 miles. It was sold new in California and was always a California car. It is in what I would call very good condition. with nice paint, a straight body. A good interior that shows some age as all Ferrari tan interiors do over time, but the leather is still soft and not torn or worn thru. The top is good and functions well with a clear rear window. There is a small tear in the back(see photo), there is a stitch on the drivers side in the back, and on the front part of the top there is one small wear hole on each side, but the top is usable and you could get many years use out it as it is. The compartments are clean both front and rear. The Achilles heel to Mondial Cabs are the rear quarter window motors if they don't function, you cannot put the top up and down, this car has windows that work very well which is a very important thing on a mondial since replacing them is very expensive. The Air-conditioning also blows cold. The car has the rear top cloth cover which is very hard to get on as all Mondials top covers are, it also has the tonneau cover. The car comes with the owners manual pouch, manuals, jack and tool kit.

The car drives very well, it shifts fine, the clutch feels good. There is a very good service history with the car the book is stamped from new to 1996 when the 30,000 mile service was performed at the authorized dealer(who sold it new on Feb 14, 1986) in Newport Beach California. From there the receipts pick up again in the year 2000 until the present time. While the car has been very well serviced and it really runs very nicely, it should have another belt replacement done soon since the last one was not done since 1996. The car has been fitted with 17 inch factory Ferrari 348 rims which really give the car a nice look. The tires have probably 50% tread life left. I do not have the original rims. The car has a clean car fax report.

The car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can reach me at: forzamot@aol.com or call 860-350-1140. I can help arrange shipping but the buyer must pay for shipping. International buyers welcome. Thank you for looking at my listing. This is a good car that deserves a good home as it will make someone very happy.
