Chassis #0222 is the ultimate development of the A3/C with a fibreglass (as opposed to aluminium) body as well as independent rear suspension and a quadruple Weber carburettor, 400bhp Corvette engine. The works entry for the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hours race, in the hands of Regis Fraissinet and Jean de Mortemart it claimed 9th overall, winning its class outright and remains the highest placed Bizzarrini ever at Le Mans. Further competition success came with Chris Amon who drove the car to 4th place at the Austrian GP at Zeltweg, #0222 further competing at the Nurburgring 1000kms and at Reims in 1965. Sold by the factory in late 1965 to the American actor Remington Olsted, he kept the car until it joined the fabled Violati 'Maranello Rosso' collection. Since then 0222 has been restored to its former glory and has competed successfully in many historic events, most recently at Le Mans Classic 2008. This sensational Bizzarrini comes complete with its original 1965 Le Mans engine as well as it's current, fully race prepared unit along with current HTP papers and an FIA Heritage Certificate.
