What did have Herbert von Krajan, Paul Allen, Bill Gates and the Sultan bin Sulajem in comon? Not just money and fame - they had owned at last one Porsche 959. They knew why the wanted Porsche's ever most expensive customer give a way - since the original price of 450,000 DM did not cover half the real costs for producing the car which involved many pioneering techniques including the moulded fiberglass/ Kevlar bodywork. The suspension had three ride-height selections in addition to three settings for the shocks. Its antilock braking system was controlled by high speed microprocessors augmented by run-flat Bridgestone tyres.
The 2,849cc Porsche twin sequential turbocharged and intercooled flat six engine ran a maximum of 1 atmosphere boost and used water cooling for the six individual cylinder heads, producing a totally reliable (at least) 450 horsepower at 6,500 rpm driving through an electronically-controlled all wheel drive system.
Top speed 198 mph and 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds, safely performed by a very technically advanced four wheel drive system.
About 292 Porsche 959 left the factory, all ordered long before production and each one of them destined for wealthy automotive connoisseurs.
Guarantee and service book, even original invoce proof a for this car. The owner bought it direct and new from Porsche and has kept it ever since in its collection of fine motorcars, partly from Porsche. In his tenure the 959 has been maintained corretly, with maintenance carried out scrupulously as evidenced by records with the car. This is in no way a trailer queen nor a mumified multiowner used Porsche. It has been returned to the Porsche factory for servicing.
All the factory tools are present and unused in their cases in the luggage compartment, plus the jack, wheel wrench and hard bound spare parts catalogue, owners handbook, guarantee and service book (fully stamped). NO race track, no accident, never driven in anger.
It is indeed hard to find an equally comprehensively documented or equipped 959, which is now sold for age reasons.
The exterior paintwork is immaculate with no faults immediately visible, whilst the interior carpeting and seats are also unmarked. The road wheels are free of kerb damage and the engine bay is almost spotless. Glass and rubber seals are all excellent.
There are no questionmarks from any possible technical side - neither engine, gearbox, differentials, electrics or anything. The car has not sat unused for long periods of time, worst thing that can happen to the 959 advanced technology, and has no known needs. It should not be confused with many of the 959 on the market with gaps in their histories, incomplete service records or any other questionmarks.
This is an opportunity for an excellent long term investment.
Serious requests are invited, the car is visible in Germany and after a PoF is supplied, we are happy to forward any documentation available.
