Rare Abarth 1000 Bialbero Record Monza Zagato "Compasso d'Oro"
| Recently discovered significant racing history beginning 1961 with semi-Works Abarth driver Oddone Sigala who later went on to race an Abarth Simca 1300 and Ferrari 250 GTO and 250 LM. Sigala raced with Remo Cattini at Monza in the Coppa Ascari and Coppa Intereuropa events. The car can be seen in action on the famous Monza banking. Sigala then went on to compete in various hillclimb events including the Trento-Bondone, Trieste-Opicina, Stallavena-Boscochiesanuova etc.. This Record Monza was restored in 1985 and since then used as a road car. A supplementary front cooler has been fitted (this was in fact and official ABARTH factory period option). The 1000cc Bialbero engine was rebuilt 2000 kms ago. It retains its original "AH" block, cross-over manifold and 40mm Weber carburettors. The body has "patina" but in very good condition and no signs of rust. The car was used regularly during the summer months by the previous owner. Car eligible for most if not all historice events and a rare opportunity to purchase this unique piece of Italian motoring history! For further info please contact info@bernimotori.com
