This car's chassis was built by Lola Racing Cars International, and funded by Rocketsports Racing, a motor racing team from East Lancing, Michigan. The engine was developed at Cosworth's headquarters in England. At the time, Cosworth was a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company. In 2003, Rocketsports Racing teamed up with race car driver Alexandre Tagliani to join the Champ Car Series. The following year, Tagliani scored his first victory in this car by placing first at the Grand Prix of Road America. Tagliani held the lead position for 16 out of the 48 total laps, and had an average speed of 110 MPH to win the race. He participated in the Champ Car World Series in 2004 and finished in 7th place overall. Totally rebuilt for show events, it has been refinished in its original Johnson Controls livery as it appeared in 2004. The engine has been removed from this car, but it is ready to accept any suitable Cosworth DF unit. It is equipped with Bridgestone Potenza racing tires on OZ wheels. Electronics have been removed. No gauges remain on the dash. Currently a display unit that could be converted into a driver.
