- Built as a Buick concept car, this "one of one" prototype Riviera was custom built with the Cadillac V-8 Northstar
- Introduced at SEMA, it was intended to convince GM execs of the need and feasibility of allowing Buick to produce the Riviera with this high performance option
- The custom "flip-flop" teal paint, one-off Budnik wheels, and the polished Northstar engine account for a build cost estimated to be in excess of $150,000.
- The authenticity of this unique prototype is verified by communications from GM Design Center & Heritage Center managers, and copies of original GM documents including title in the name of General Motors, and original window sticker
- A a rolling work of art that is sure to stand the test of time strictly as a collectible, however, unlike most GM "show and display" vehicles, this car has a full production VIN. It is being sold on a Michigan salvage title in GM's name, that will be legally re-assigned to the new owner
- Many states allow for inspection that may qualify the car for registration and road use if desired
