Known History

The car on offer was registered on November 2nd, 1976, and delivered by the factory to Thepenier, importer for the French market, although it was equipped with "American" bumpers, since Lamborghini had decided to standardize on the last models produced. The documents that come with the car, trace its specific history since 1981, when it was registered in Corrèze region. It was bought in 1986 by a doctor from Deux-Sèvres who kept the car till 2015, before its current owner acquired it. It was maintained by the garage Aumonier, near Niort, specialized in the maintenance of classic vehicles. This is one of the last Espadas, production was reduced to a minimal in the last two years. Its air-conditioning was an original equipment item.

The odometer today shows a tad over 66,000 km, which seems to be genuine, and its engine block is matching numbers. Original in a grey livery, this Espada now sports a blue color with original black leather interior. Without being perfect, this S3 sports a nice inner and outer patina and seems never to have been fully restored, but well preserved over the years. This car has its original user manual and brown leather pouch. It runs on unleaded petrol thanks to the installation of a cartridge. This Series 3 has been a source of joy to its current owner and is a real opportunity to own a legendary GT. The Espada was a real commercial success for Lamborghini at the time, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
