Known History

This car was delivered new on September 25, 1980 to the dealer Renault Mazière Evry, in Essonne, in the form of a Renault 5 Turbo. Jacques Mazière, a very good driver, decided to make it into a Group 4 version, equivalent to the "Cévennes" competition-client cars provided by Renault. It was thus prepared on the basis of its team, using Renault Sport parts, which we would like to list out: reinforced shell, Renault Sport roll hoops, Cévennes-type undercarriage reinforced with upper triangular tubular sections at the front, on Unibal ball joints, combined with springs/shock absorbers, 2.25 turns direct steering, 220bhp Renault Sport engine kit (forged pistons, steel liners, Renault Sport camshaft), special heat exchanger, four-in-one exhaust manifold, a modified Garret T3 turbocharger, high flow K-Jetronic injection, special ignition, reinforced clutch, Renault Sport Monte Carlo type gearbox with shorter gears and 40% ZF self-locking differential, as well as Gotti 13-inch wheels.

Thus prepared, the car was entered at the Rallye Monte-Carlo in 1981, with the competition number of 111, with the crew Mazière-Dularoy, the year when the race was won by another Renault 5 Turbo, the factory version driven by Jean Ragnotti, though the car on offer did abandon. Never modified since then, this car was subsequently stored until 2007, whenJacques Mazière sold it through a dealer to an enthusiast in the Ardèche region. A specialist from Nice was then committed to restore it with great care, respecting its configuration from 1981. In 2010, the car received a Technical Passport History FFSA, and the car comes with a FIA homologation form.

Modified at the time according to the rules of art, this Renault 5 Turbo is a great opportunity to acquire a historic car, with a track record, in superb condition, and one that is eligible for many prestigious historical events.
