Known History

The best known amongst the Morgans is certainly TOK 258, which won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1962, modified and prepared by Christopher Lawrence. Learning from this victory, Peter Morgan decided to produce a series of a hundred vehicles taking over the transformations made, but tasking Lawrence to provide the engines prepared under his care. The car then took the body of the 4/4, lowered and more aerodynamic, and made of aluminum, while the mechanicals came from the Triumph TR4, but tuned to produce more than 120bhp.

The car we are offering is exceptional in more ways than one. First, it has a clear history: its factory card confirms that this Super Sports was ordered new by Thomas Redigan, in Chicago in 1965, with the 2.2L engine "Lawrence Tuned", the body in aluminum, "racing" running gear including a special differential, a fog lamp, bumpers, 72-spokes reinforced rims, etc. It was resold in 1970, in California and remained from 1972 to 2002 in the same hands. A Swedish collector bought it in 2003 and had it restored by the renowned Brands Hatch Morgan. It is from the latter that the current owner acquired it. The entire car is in its factory configuration and matching numbers, with the exception of the engine block, replaced by a similar model's, which when bench tested in 2004 showed up a max power of 133.8bhp! Rare, conform to the original, and in perfect condition, this Super Sport is certainly one of the most desirable ones.
