Cresta PAs are becoming increasingly rare and values are steadily creeping up . This 1961 PA has been thoroughly restored from the ground up to a very nice standard. The extensive and thoughtful modifications include all the right kit to make an extremely quick race-ready car which would be equally suited to track or fast road use. Finished in period PA colours, the body underwent major structural restoration by its classic racecar garage owner and comes with a good selection of spares, including rare body panels and parts.

We're told that the engine is fully rebuilt, on the button and ready to race, with only a few shakedown track sessions under its belt. Put together over 3 years in between prepping cars for Goodwood, this PA has had all the necessary modifications required to become a front runner. The engine is a 3.3 litre Holden unit with triple SUs and custom tubular manifold mated to a Holden 4 speed box with new Holden competition paddle clutch. A custom prop shaft has been used and the diff is standard non LSD. Included in the spares package is an extra engine, already dismantled and a spare new Holden competition paddle clutch.

Not only does this PA move extremely quickly, but it also stops perfectly too due to the upgrade to disc brakes from a later Cresta PC. The whole is kept firmly planted with thick anti-tramp bar, Panhard rod and adjustable shocks all round allowing for a tunable set-up. There is an alloy race tank in the boot with fuel cut-off. One of the many practical modifications is the custom made laminated screen, a smart choice for racing.

The interior is is mostly standard original, with the exception of course of a 6 point cage, harnesses and race seat. As a passenger seat is a requirement for Goodwood, a smaller lightweight bucket has been added. Auxilliary gauges have been added in a dashtop pod. The rear seat is standard and in good condition, as are the door cards. The original front seats are no longer with the car, but we're told that another set are available seperately if required. Fiberglass bumpers help keep the weight down and suit the car well. Those familiar with Crestas will know that this is a late model PA and came with 'chapel lights' as opposed to the 'oval lights' from the early PA fitted here. We prefer the ovals and the addition of under-bumper rear indicators would see this car ready for road use again.
