NG Cars was founded in 1979 by vehicle and aeronautical design engineer, Nick Green, and based in New Milton, Hampshire. Over a period of nine months he developed his first NG model TA which appeared in Motor Sport in October 1979. This car went some way toward honouring the Aston Martin International of the 1930s. It was a huge success and Nick was immediately spurred on to design the car he would really like to own. The result was the TC that appeared in V8 form in 1981. In 1983, the 2 2 TD appeared in response to customer demand for a more practical NG, and, later in the same year it appeared with the elegant flowing wings that created the TF. With NG cars a runaway success, the reins were handed over to Peter Fellowes, an NG owner who had formed the TA Motor Company in Milton Keynes. Today, there is an active members club and the cars offer the perfect blend of 1930 style with 21st Century performance.
This NG ‘TC’ was built in the late 1980s/early 1990s based on a 1969 MG B, using the well proven 3,528cc aluminium Rover V8 engine fitted with a Holly twin-choke carburettor which produces around 220BHP delivering a top speed of approximately 135mph, through the five speed manual gearbox. On completion the car was exported to Rome in 1994. The car was part of a private collection of performance cars and was used sparingly on the road/in hill climbs where it performed extremely well and provided lots of pleasure to the new owner. During this period, it was maintained regardless of cost – for example, there are pictures of the car having an engine rebuild in the owners workshop. In 2014, the NG was repatriated to the UK. This excellent NG TC is finished in Bugatti Blue paint, complemented by polished metal bonnet and cream wire wheels. The climb-in cockpit interior is fitted with narrow brown leather bucket seats, wood-rim steering wheel and in keeping with the 1940’s styling, aero screens. Supplied with the car are a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2018 and a file containing old MoT test certificates, various build sheets and photographs. True to say, the NG V8 is a real driver’s car that has panache and performance in the style of sportscars of the 1940s and 50s.This is certainly excellent value for money and looks great!]]
