Known History

Launched during October 1981's Paris Salon, Ferrari's 512i BB most notably marked the arrival of fuel injection on Ferrari's Flat-12. Replacing the familiar Weber carbs (seen on almost every previous Ferrari model) fuel injection not only improved an engine's flexibility but made it much easier to maintain. The BBi remained in production for almost three years. A few minor detail changes were made to the bodywork with clear reflectors inserted into the front bumper and supplementary driving lights now exposed in the grille. There were also new wing mirrors. 1007 fuel injected Boxer's were completed of which 43 were right-hand drive. This took entire BB production to just over 2300.

This BBi offered for sale by DK Engineering was delivered and first registered in April 1982. The vehicle is finished in its original combination of Rosso with Nero hide and Rosso Zegna wool inserts. This is a very well known example of the model within the Ferrari Owners Club having been owned by some very prominent members in the past. The car is accompanied by a full and thorough history file detailing all owners, work carried out to the car, MOT’s and servicing. More recently the car has been subject to an extensive amount of work by Nick Cartwright to bring the car up to the highest concours standard. Work this year included, a full body respray, an engine out detail, thorough detailing of the whole car iinside and out, a suspension overhaul and a major cambelt service. The car is ready and reliable in every respect for the next owner to use and enjoy – an opportunity not to be missed!
