1962 Jaguar E-Type Coupé 3.8L series ISOLD

Rust and accident free, matching numbers, excellent engine, runs and drives but needs some restoration. Great price!

Car just came out of 10 year storage. Engine runs very good. Has excellent compression (approx 160 PSI in all cylinders) and oil pressure. Amazingly the engine is not an oil leaker. Matching number engine. Rust free body. Very straight body, shows no signs of ever been in an accident. Has after market AC with a rotary compressor. AC turns on and compressor clink on but air is not cold. Most likely will need Freon charge.

Tires are old and will need to be replaced. Paint is shinny but not the best quality. Chrome bumpers have some pitting but are very straight. They do not appear to have ever been redone. Interior will need cleaning but I am sure it will turn out quite nice. The driver's front carpet is worn. Headliner is excellent. Chrome trim is quite nice. The boot lid glass has the chrome trim, which is missing on many cars and is very expensive, if you can find it. I just changed the engine oil. I would recommend replacing all cooling hoses, the other oil, the belt, check the brakes .. etc. The car starts, drives and stops but it does need some attention in order to make it a reliable driver. The good news is this Jaguar is very unmolested, and the major items; which are the body and engine are in good condition.

Includes spare tire with its holder, original owner's manual with plastic pouch (very rare to find in original condition) and a Jaguar worldwide dealer booklet dated may, 1962 (even rarer!).

Very early e-type, like this one, are usually totally restored (and very expensive) or need a complete restoration. It is hard to find an honest example that is mostly unmolested, at this price. Ideal car for the enthusiast looking for a fairly easy restoration
