BMW 3.0 CSL M30 Engine
| Completely original engine 3.0 CSL; complete with exhaust manifold, air filter box alternator, flywheel clutch. 3003 cc; 6 cylinder / 2 valves (STR 6 OHC); 200 Hp Stroke 80,00 mm / Bore 89,25 mm with 2 Zenith dual-body carburetors.
This type of engine was designed starting from the 4-cylinder engines of the M10 family, 2 more cylinders were added in a row to the first 4, giving rise to a 6-cylinder in-line engine. In particular this is a special version used on the first BMW 3.0 CSL. This engine is derived directly from the 3 liters injection normally used on 3.0 CSi, ie the M30B30 unit. Starting from this base, the bore is increased minimally, just enough to pass the bore and stroke measurements from 89x80 to 89.25x80 mm. The displacement obtained is 3003 cc. The maximum values of power and torque are 200 hp at 5500 rpm and 277 N m at 4300 rpm. This engine was used between 1972 and 1973, to be replaced by a new larger displacement unit.
