The first cars to bear the name of Enzo Ferrari appeared only 58 years ago, but in that time they have built a legend for delivering uncompromising performance from their six, eight and tweleve cylinder power units whilst clothed in some of the most exciting and elegant Italian coachwork designs. From the earlier twelve cylinder 275 GTB/4 a natural development was the larger engined 365 GTB/4 (commonly known as the Daytona after the 1-2-3 victory in the 24 hour race of 1967) and this was the swansong for the successful front-engined berlinetta series. The deliberately aggressive shape styled by Pininfarina and the uncompromising mechanical specification ensured its success in the very demanding sports car market.
The 352bhp delivered by the race-bred four cam V12 engine was mated to a five-speed rear transaxle mounted in a welded steel tubular chassis frame. Fed by a sextet of twin choke downdraght Weber carburrettors, independent road tests gave a top speed of between 170-174 mph in standard form, which in the early '70s was an amazing feat. Such capability confirmed the 365 GTB/4 was the fastest production car for ten years after production finished with the updated Lamborghini Countach Quattrovavole taking the crown in the mid eighties. The Daytona had near perfect weight distribution due to the layout of the engine/drive train and provided a very balanced and neutral handling car that was equally comfortable being driven sedately through town or roaring down the autostrada.

This early Plexiglass example is finished in Rosso Corsa with Nero hide. A geniune UK supplied right hand drive example, the car has covered just 35,000 miles from new and is presented in excellent condition. This car has Cromodora alloy wheels, 7.5' at the front and 9' at the rear, series one plexiglass nose styling, Nardi steering wheel and obviously Daytona seats! The Daytona is without a doubt one of the most exciting road Ferrari's ever produced and very rare in right hand drive, less than 125 examples were produced in both Spyder and coupe form.
