Extremely rare like new huge streamlined top class luxury sedan, 5. 3 liter eight-cylinder flat-head in-line engine, 130 hp, three-speed manual transmission with engageable freewheel, engageable overdrive through two-speed rear axle, hydraulic braking system, whitewall tires 7.50x15, split windshield to crank up, including front pivoting triangular window fully retractable side windows in front, folding side windows in the rear, external spare wheel and much more!

The legendary Chrysler Airflow, a real milestone in automotive history, we owe to the gifted designer Carl Breer. The result was a dream in the then particularly popular Art Deco style, which continued from the spectacular exterior design to the smallest detail in the interior. Together with aviation pioneer Orville Wright, Chrysler built the first wind tunnel in an automobile plant to develop the Airflow. The results of the tests were promising. The new car had much lower drag than the conventional square boxes of the competition at the time. This meant a saving in fuel consumption despite the extra weight due to the design! Also the driving performance was sensational! The Indianapolis racer Harry Hartz, who was rich in sig, set 72 records with a standard 1934 Airflow!

The extra weight resulted from another sensational design feature. The Airflow did not have a conventional frame like all passenger cars of the time, but was based on a steel tubular frame that enclosed the entire passenger compartment like a cage. This gave the car extreme rigidity. An attempt by Chrysler to push one off a 30 meter high rock cliff showed unbelievable! The car plunged down, hit the snout of a rock halfway up, flipped over in mid-air, and came to rest on its wheels. A Chrysler technician opened both doors, found that they closed properly and the door gap still fit exactly, got behind the wheel, started up and left the scene! With the experiment not even a disk was broken, since these already consisted of safety glass, likewise a novelty at that time!

Only a few very well-heeled contemporaries and also heads of state like the President of the Philippines Manuel L. Quezon afforded themselves an Airflow. The Chrysler Airflow is very rare today, but there are still some examples in important collections, like the one of Jay Leno. Steve McQueen also had one, which became part of Carroll Shelby's private collection after his death. By the way, this car is currently for sale at 149.900,- US Dollar. An example from the collection of John Gotti achieved already in 2014 on the occasion of the Auctions America Spring Sale in Auburn, Indiana a revenue of 213.400,- US Dollar!

The vehicle presented here is in really extremely good condition! Over several years, the car was completely restored at great expense! All work was done exclusively by specialists in Europe. Since the rebuild, the car has been moved just about 3,500 miles and used on some important classic car trips. Since no compromises were made on the part of the owner, the restoration costs were enormous. The asking price here is only a fraction of the total cost! For collectors and investors this car is an especially good choice! This enormously large and massive car steals the show from everyone else!

The car has EU papers and a valid FIVA vehicle passport. It can be exported duty free to all states of the EU. A worldwide delivery by our forwarder specialized in classic cars can be arranged upon request.
