2002 PORSCHE 911 TURBO 6-SPEED $49,995.00
In the world of Porsche these 996 Turbos have to be the best value for money and bang for the buck out there today. Earlier generation cars don’t drive as well, are slower and a lot more expensive. These cars are just brilliant and the Mezger engine doesn’t have the "Intermediate Shaft problem," also known as the "IMS” that non-turbo cars of the era can have. With lots of power, all-wheel drive and 6-speed manual transmission this car is a delight to drive. When new these fifth-generation 911 Turbo’s were the fastest-ever street-legal 911 made. The water-cooled 24-valve 3.6-liter boxer is a twin turbocharged version of the dry-sump 911 GT3/GT1 engine. It shares the block, the pistons, and the camshaft's chain drive with the GT3 and uses the same head castings, smaller valves, and a different combustion-chamber shape. Each KKK K64 turbo serves its own cylinder bank with up to 12.3 psi of intercooled boost. Rated at 415 horsepower at 6000 rpm and, 413 pound-feet of torque. Porsche's own conservative test numbers for the 911 Turbo's were 4.2-second 0 to 62-mph with a claimed 189-mph top speed, 15 mph up on the Semi-racing GT3. This example is an original two-owner car sold new in Carlsbad, California, with only 39,880 miles showing, owner’s books, a sunroof and clean Carfax.
A minor service was done at 39,860 miles by renowned Porsche specialist Marc Bixen of Red Line Service here locally. Finished Arctic Silver with Black Leather Carbon Fiber accented interior.
