Known History

Engine #7500490. It's not often we get the chance to offer a car that's been in one family all its life. It was purchased new by the current owner's father in 1958, and was restored only 3500 miles ago. The restoration was started by known 300SL expert, Joe Tompkins of Foreign Auto Tech, in '98, and finished by us in '01 after Joe's passing. It's finished in striking original DB166 Blue Gray, with nicely contrasting Red leather. The engine, trans, and brakes were also gone through, and the car drives superbly. The original Bill of Sale is included along with books, tools, manuals, receipts, and numerous concours trophys accumulated over the years. A Becker Mexico radio, and an unrestored hardtop accompany the car. This is a great chance to buy a fantastic car with a wonderful history.
