80hp, 314.5 cu. in. tri-power Cadillac V8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, live axle suspension with leaf springs and four-wheel mechanical brakes. Wheelbase: 138"

Firmly established as a leader in the luxury car field, Cadillac continued to evolve in innovation and design. By 1924, it had been nine years since Cadillac had introduced its first eight-cylinder engine.

For 1924, the Cadillac hood was lengthened, while the radiator grew in height by an inch. Interior room was increased and the seating was made lower. The ventilator door was now flush with the cowl and the headlamps were bowl rather than bell shaped. All these improvements made the 1924 Cadillac a sleeker and cleaner car in appearance.

Driving a Cadillac was made safer with the fitting of front brakes, while the windscreen wipers were now automatic and vacuum-operated. Cadillac also made its Type V-63 V8 smoother by fitting a compensated, inherently balanced, two-plane crankshaft. The frame was strengthened with the addition of cross-members to reduce flex.

Don Lee - Cadillac delivered this blue Phaeton with its French grey medium stripe, wooden wheels and a blue hood in September of 1928 to Harrison S. Robinson in Oakland, California. Believed to have spent most of its 80- plus years garaged in Southern California and having a mere 43,740 miles on its odometer, this very original, sporty and fast 1924 Cadillac Phaeton appears to be equipped with its factory fitted dual exhaust.

The original side curtains remain in excellent condition, stored carefully away in a special canvas envelope behind the front seat. A soft cloth partition between the curtains was fitted to avoid chafing or scratches. The original tool kit is also present.

This timewarp 1924 Cadillac tourer also features dual spare tires, a nine-inch diameter spot lamp fitted on a three-foot tall running board stand and a unique hood ornament. The headlamp lenses are manufactured by Bausch and Lomb. A build sheet from the Cadillac archives documents this Phaeton ĺ s origins.

Not only is this perhaps the world ĺ s most original Cadillac of this era, it is also one of the finest in regards to condition. Its nickel-plating still shines like new, as does its paintwork. Excellent in all regards and running as smoothly as the day it left the factory, all this 1924 Cadillac Phaeton requires is another careful owner to enjoy its vintage pleasures.
