600+hp, 514 cu. in. Ford Motorsport Crate V8 engine, TCI C-6 automatic transmission, custom independent four- wheel suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 112"

In December 1934, Ford introduced its new models. Ford ’ s president Edsel Ford had lots to smile about in 1935. Ford was America ’ s top selling car and it was a Ford that was the pace car for that year ’ s Indianapolis 500 race.

Over 100,000 five-window coupes were delivered in the 1935 model year and the car pictured here was one of them. However, over the ensuing seven plus decades its DNA changed dramatically.

A painstaking five-year build started with a basically very solid, original five-window coupe. Its complete transformation began slowly. The top was chopped by two-inches and morphed into a three-window coupe. The conversion was under the direction of famed Andy Stands, who is well known for his expertise when it comes to hot rods –particularly when dealing with 1935-36 Fords. Every panel was stitch welded, hammered and filed until perfect.

The original Ford bodylines were amended and the door and trunk handles shaved to provide a sleeker look for the highly modified coupe. A power remote opener operates the doors, windows and trunk. The flawless, spectacular paintwork is Mercedes-Benz “ Ghost Silver ” which has a deep, rich shine and a mirror finish.

Inside, a custom-made tan leather interior was fitted by Performance Restorations. Cool and relaxed driving comes easy thanks to a Kenwood stereo with a flip-out TV display and Vintage Air AC.

The original chassis was fully boxed and a custom center section was fabricated by Brinks Hot Rod Shop. A fully independent suspension was designed featuring a stainless A-arm up front, a Currie nine-inch rear end with a 350 posi-traction center and 31 spline rear axles. Polished Wilwood disc brakes were fitted all around, along with fully adjustable coil-overs on each corner. The bold image of the BFG tires are enhanced by Halibrand “ Sweet Swirl ” polished aluminum wheels.

The fully detailed 514 cubic inch Ford V8 fitted is a Ford Motorsports crate engine rated at 600+ horsepower. Managing all that power is a TCI C-6 automatic transmission. Custom headers and a full Mandrel bent, coated three-inch exhaust ensures the proper performance and exhaust sound.

Fast, strikingly stylish and custom-built by some of the best in the industry, this high quality hot rod makes an audacious statement about its pedigree and the individual that owns and drives it.
