Known History

The Porsche 911 S

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Porsche’s 911 S was the model to have. In 1969, the wheelbase was extended by 2.5 inches, providing better balance and handling, and with its engine output now increased to a more potent 180 hp, thanks to larger valves and better breathing, a larger 225-mm clutch was also required. Capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in just over seven seconds, the 911 S could reach a top speed of over 230 km/h. Few cars of its day were capable of producing similar performance figures, and the S was truly a thrill to drive for anyone lucky enough to sit behind the wheel.

This Motorcar

The Porsche 911 S 2.2 we are offering here is chassis 911 130 0169. It is a very special example finished in the rare and sought after Leaf Green with black leatherette to the interior. The car was supplied new to the Italian market in mid-1970. As per the estratto chronologico which is included in the file, the first recorded owner was Mr Domenico Di Cosimo who will keep 9111300169 for three years before selling the car to second owner Mr Ezio Colosio in July 1973. Ezio Colosio will stay in possession of the Porsche for over ten years and and sell it to third owner Francesco Cariaci of Mantova in 1984. The fourth owner, Giovanni Luca Testi, purchased the car from Mr Cariaci in 1993 and sold it after a very short period of time that same year to fifth owner Mr Giorgio Pizzamiglio. Mr Pizzamiglio will have the engine rebuilt at 93,000 km (evidenced by the workshop’s sticker retained in the history file) the following year. The work was carried out by then well-known specialists Mr Mignotti of Bologna.

After the passing of Mr Pizzamiglio in the mid 90s, 9111300169 got acquired by Mr Giuliano Alessandri who will have the car maintained by former head mechanic of the Porsche official dealer of Bologna. Multiple maintenance records are available from that time. In 2015 the car was acquired by current owner in Switzerland who had further works carried out by marque expert at over EUR 20.000,- costs.

Highly original in every respect and finished in a special colour, 911 130 0169 was never restored and represents the most attractive variant of the long bonnet 911’s with the desirable 901-type transmission, chrome finished and a powerful 180 bhp engine! A true collector’s gem.
