Trade-in car. In 1971 this Triumph Stag was sold to its first owner and registered in California. In 2005 the car moved to South Carolina after which the owner entered the car into a living trust for the family. Apart form the new paintwork ( good but not perfect), this Triumph Stag is extremely original and never required any restorative work done. The interior trim is fully original, with only the drivers’ seat needing some stitching. The woodwork is lovely with signs of the correct amount of use. Mechanically the Triumph runs and drives well, with the proviso that a thorough major service is due. The car’s authenticity is further reinforced by the original hardtop and lightweight alloys. And finally it deserves mention that this is the popular manual version. Just a few tweaks will ready this car for the coming classic season, so one can not really speak of a project. Trade-in car. In 1971 werd de Triumph aan eerste eigenaar verkocht en geregistreerd in Californië. In 2005 verhuisde de auto naar de staat South Carolina waarna de laatste eigenaar de auto opnam in een ‘living trust’ van de familie. Afgezien van een nieuwe laklaag (goed, maar niet perfect) verkeert deze Triumph Stag in zeer originele staat, de auto behoefde nooit verdere restauratie werkzaamheden. Het interieur is volledig origineel, alleen de bestuurdersstoel behoeft wat stikwerk. Het houtwerk is prachtig met correcte gebruikerssporen. Technisch is de Triumph goed lopend en rijdend, een uitgebreide service wordt wel geadviseerd. De Triumph stag is verder voorzien van de originele hard-top en fraaie optionele lichtmetalen wielen die de originaliteit van de auto onderstrepen. Niet geheel onbelangrijk om te vermelden, de auto is voorzien van de geliefde handgeschakelde versnellingsbak. Deze auto een project noemen zou hem te kort doen, met de juiste (vooral technische) aandacht kan dit exemplaar dit jaar nog genieten van het oldtimer seizoen.
