Known History

After having proved itself in the hands of important people, soldiers and mobsters, the ultimate version of the Traction Avant 15-Six was the ďHď (for ďhydro-pneumaticĒ, also known as ďOleoĒ), launched in 1954. On this model, engineer Paul MagŤs developed the system for the rear suspension, which was adopted from the DS. With a high pressure pump driven by the engine and a hydraulic system which supplied the spheres of each wheels, with the car benefiting from exceptional comfort, as well as a levelling system, which gave the car a constant ride height, whatever the load. To complement this improvement in comfort, the front torsion bars were extended.

The example on offer, a four-window sedan, left the factory in 1954, and was then registered on December 7 of the same year. Its current owner acquired it in 2000, in the Paris region, after it had been restored. The body is in an elegant pearl grey, a period color, and features several Robri accessories. The upholstery has also been redone in accordance with the original, in grey mohair velvet, without visible seams, and is in a good condition. The car also features a vintage accessory steering wheel and a water temperature gauge. The mechanicals were overhauled in 2010, as can be seen by invoices totaling nearly Ä 8,000. This is the most prestigious and sought-after version amongst the Traction 15/6, and this beautiful specimen with many accessories should appeal to true enthusiasts.
