Known History

The Montreal holds a special place in the history of the marque from Milan. Both its original styling by Gandini and its noble 2.6-litre V8, developed from the iconic Alfa 33, gave the Montreal an undoubted majesty, breaking with the engineering solutions which were usually employed. The model presented here is from the first series and was registered in Italy in 1972. Its colour is one of the most sought-after from the range available at the time: Arancio Pastello (AR601) is a true symbol of the '70s. Its current owner bought the car at an auction organised by Artcurial in Monaco in 2013 after it had been restored to a high standard by Kappa, at a cost of more than €40,000, as the invoices confirm. Since then, it has been little used and recently underwent a general service. The paint is still magnificent, well finished and with a vibrant hue. The dark blue upholstery with matching carpets is in good condition and to original specification. For its part, the engine runs satisfactorily. Supplied with its service books, with its “matching numbers“ engine and little more than 10,000 km on the clock, this example should be the enthusiasts' choice. With just 3925 cars built, the Montreal belongs to the breed of genuine concept cars, masterpieces of design which are finally put into production, to the delight of their owners.
