Known History

Ferrari presented the successor to the 512 M at the “Ferrari Racing Days“ on June 19 and 21, 1996. No less than ten cars were present, branded 550 Maranello, from the name of the small town where they were built and its approximate displacement of 550 deciliters. The project was called F 133. The Ferrari 550 Maranello succeeded a whole range with a 12-cylinder flat centre-rear engine which, from the 512 BB to the 512 M, represented the top of the range sports cars of the brand, except for the limited editions, since the 365 GT B/4 Daytona was abandoned.

The car on offer was sold new by Ferrari agent Michel Weber Gmbh of Offenbach am Main (in Germany) and delivered on April 4, 1997 to its first owner. Its grey Nürburgring color, black leather interior, gives a sober and elegant look. The second owner was German too, and it is on sale by its fourth owner, a Dutch collector. It has all its manuals in the leather pouch, as well as its duly stamped service logbook. The major overhaul was just carried out in June 2020 at Mugello Engineering, in Hilversum, Holland. It has covered 59,700 km since it left the factory and has benefited from very careful service. This very desirable GT, one of the last Ferrari V12s with a manual transmission, has a sound that matches its looks. It is certainly the least expensive Ferrari to maintain.
