Known History

Launched in 1950, the VW Combi has gone from a revolutionary concept to a true icon that has become a myth over the years. The example on sale, a type 23 of Brazilian origin, is part of the first generation, the T1. It is a particularly interesting and sought-after version, very bright thanks to its 23-windows and large sunroof. An expertise from May 2019 noted that the vehicle had undergone a complete restoration of bodywork, engine (here a 1500cc version), gearbox, upholstery, running gear and braking system. A test carried out by the expert mentioned satisfactory mechanicals, a good cold start, as well as stable idling. He also noted a pleasant road dynamics, without any play in the steering, balanced braking and good gearbox synchronization. Our own test just confirmed this, even though the vehicle has only travelled just over 1170 km since its restoration. The car is fitted with belts on the nine seats and a USB plug under the dashbord. The whitewall tires are in near new condition. An important picture's file shows how important was the work carried out. This superb combi, which has not been driven much since restoration, is the perfect travel companion with family or friends.
