| The Tipo 250 F Maserati is frequently described as one of the most beautiful post war single seat racers to ever compete. Thirty-two chassis were constructed between 1954 and 1958 and all but two were factory team cars; engines included 6 cylinder and v-12 variations. The 250F was constantly being modified by the factory and there are three types: the early cars with 4-speed gearboxes: the middle series with 5-speed boxes and modified brakes; and, the last series which included all previous modifications and a lightweight chassis. Such famous drivers as Harry Schell, Stirling Moss and Jean Behra sought Championships in 250F’s; Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1957 Formula 1 Grand Prix Championship in a 250F.
