1959 was a good year for the first owner of this stunning Jaguar XK 150 DHC, who took possession of this car on the 28th February of that year. Isn’t she beautiful? This car is from the era that Jaguar successfully took part in the Le Mans. Victories from then are commemorated in the Jaguar emblem fixed to the rear of the car. This car has been extremely well lavished with lots of care and attention. And because of this the car has never needed to be fully restored. For cosmetic reasons the car has been re-sprayed in her original colours. The paintwork is still quite neat with only a few minor blemishes. The original panelwork is nice and thin, correctly aligned. The matching burgundy red hood is in good order and closes neatly and securely. For those dry days there is also a matching tonneau cover. The item that really catches ones eye are the black wire wheels. The wheels have recently been straightened and re-sprayed adding impeccable roadholding as well being aesthetically pleasing to behold. The interior trim is clad in black leather seating with red carpets, giving the car a sophisticated yet sportive allure. The carpets are in good condition and the leather is nice and supple without noticeable signs of wear and tear. The dashboard is just as well maintained with all switches and instruments in good working order. Mechanically the car is perfectly sound. The engine has been rebuilt, the head smoothed out and the head gasket replaced. The starter motor and alternator have also been overhauled. After the rebuild the car was tested out on a rolling road and to aid long distance comfort a 5-speed gearbox was fitted. The car drives lovely with the straight-six engine sounding fantastic and running perfectly. The transmission does its work perfectly adding to the car’s modern driving characteristics. This Jaguar comes with an extensive file with records of the rolling road data and many maintenance invoices.

1959 was een goed jaar voor de eerste eigenaar van deze schitterende Jaguar XK150 DHC die op 28 februari 1959 met deze Jaguar op pad mocht gaan. Is het geen plaatje? Deze auto stamt nog uit de tijd dat Jaguar succesvol meedeed aan Le Mans. De overwinningen uit de jaren daarvoor zijn terug te vinden op het merklogo op de achterzijde van de auto. Het betreft hier een extreem goed gekoesterd exemplaar. De auto behoefde vanwege de goede zorgen ook nog nooit een volledige restauratie te ondergaan. Omwille van cosmetische redenen is de auto in het verleden al eens opnieuw gespoten in haar originele kleur. De lak is nog steeds netjes met slechts hier en daar wat lichte gebruikerssporen. De auto heeft prachtig origineel, dun plaatwerk met correcte passingen. De bordeauxrode kap is in goede staat en sluit overal mooi aan. Voor de dagen dat het droog blijft is er een bijpassende tonneau cover aanwezig. De echte blikvanger aan de buitenzijde zijn de zwarte spaakwielen. De wielen zijn recentelijk gericht en opnieuw gespoten en zorgen niet alleen dat het plaatje aan de buitenzijde er perfect verzorgd uitziet maar dragen ook bij aan het goede rijgedrag. Het interieur is prachtig bekleed met rode tapijten en zwarte lederen bekleding op de stoelen. Het geeft de auto een ingetogen sportief uitstraling. De tapijten zijn in goede staat en ook het leder is keurig soepel en verzorgd zonder noemenswaardige sporen van gebruik. Het dashboard is al even goed verzorgd en alle instrumenten en bedieningselementen functioneren zoals het hoort. De techniek is ook in prima staat. De motor heeft een revisie ondergaan waarbij onder andere de kop is gevlakt en er een nieuwe koppakking is gemonteerd. Daarnaast zijn ook de startmotor en dynamo gereviseerd. Na de revisie is de motor afgesteld op de rollenbank en om de auto net wat beter geschikt te maken voor het rijden van lange afstanden is een transmissie met vijf versnellingen gemonteerd. De auto rijdt verrukkelijk en de zes-in-lijn motor loopt perfect en klinkt fantastisch. De transmissie schakelt perfect en draagt bij aan het moderne rijgedrag van deze Jaguar. De Jaguar wordt geleverd inclusief een uitgebreide map met documentatie met onder andere een rollenbank-uitdraai en veel recente onderhoudsfacturen. Kortom een prachtige Jaguar XK150 DHC met een heerlijk rijgedrag en een fantastische technische staat.
