The Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé (type: AM115/49) is a rare, gorgeous, 70’s, Italian supercar. This one was built and supplied in 1971. Since then she has only clocked up 47,086 miles. The SS edition of the Ghibli succeeded the standard Ghibli and had more power. This increase was due to the enlarged bore, going from 4.7 litres to 4.9 litres. If the standard Ghibli was pretty rare with only 1,170 made, the SS was even rarer with only 425 made. The car’s first owner specified a brilliant car. This Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé has an “Oro Kelso” (gold, code:2463214) finish with a “Senape” (tan, Connolly, code: PAC.1775) interior trim. The car looks absolutely great. Its external look is complimented by the welded Borrani Dial rims and Ansa exhaust. The Giorgetto Giugiaro designed bodywork is in fine condition with nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The “Oro Kelso” paintwork has been res-prayed for cosmetic reasons and is in very nice condition with only minor blemishes. The brightwork is also very good. The original interior trim is a feast for the eyes. The carpets are neat and the leather is supple with a few light patches of wear, that only add to the car’s allure. All switches and instruments are in very good condition and working order. The interior condition is commiserate with the car’s low mileage. Mechanically this Ghibli SS also has enjoyed splendid maintenance. The 90 degree, 4,930cc V8 engine delivers 335Hp at 5,500 revs and 481 Nm of torque at 4,000 revs. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual ZF transmission. The V8 gets the Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé to a top speed of 280 km/hr. We cannot imagine a more stylish way to achieve this kind of speed. At the time it was the fastest Maserati ever built. This Maserati Ghibli SS comes with a Maserati Classiche certificate. We suspect that the Maserati Ghibli SS is, in part thanks to its 4.9 litre engine, probably the finest 70’s Maserati and even possibly the finest Maserati of all. Sindsdien heeft ze nog maar 47.086 miles gereden. De SS uitvoering van de Ghibli volgde op de reguliere Ghibli en had meer vermogen. De vermogensstijging was te danken aan het grotere slagvolume van de SS dat groeide van 4.7 liter naar 4.9 liter. De Ghibli is met slechts 1.170 stuks een zeer zeldzame auto maar de SS is met slechts 425 stuks nog veel zeldzamer. De eerste eigenaar heeft een schitterende auto samengesteld. Deze Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé is uitgevoerd in "Oro Kelso" (goud, code: 2463214) met een "Senape" (tan, Connolly code: PAC.1775) interieur. De auto is prachtig om te zien. Het uiterlijk wordt compleet gemaakt door de gesmede Borrani Dial wielen en de Ansa uitlaat. De door Giorgetto Giugiaro bij Ghia ontworpen carrosserie verkeert in prachtige conditie met mooi dun plaatwerk en correcte passingen. De "Oro Kelso" lak is om cosmetische redenen een keer opnieuw gespoten en verkeert dan ook in zeer fraaie conditie met slechts wat lichte sporen van gebruik. Het chroom op de carrosserie is ook in zeer goede staat. Het interieur is helemaal origineel en een lust voor het oog. De tapijten zijn zeer netjes en het leder heerlijk soepel met hier en daar wat lichte gebruikerssporen, die alleen maar toevoegen aan de binnenzijde van deze auto. De bedieningselementen en instrumenten zijn allemaal in zeer goede staat en functioneren zoals het hoort. De staat van het interieur past helemaal bij de lage kilometerstand. Technisch is de Ghibli SS ook zeer goed verzorgd. De 90-graden, 4.930cc grote V8-motor levert 335 pk bij 5.500 toeren en 481 Nm koppel bij 4.000 toeren. De motor is gekoppeld aan ene handgeschakelde ZF-Transmissie met 5 versnellingen. De V8-motor stelt de Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé in staat om een topsnelheid te behalen van 280 kilometer per uur. Is er een stijlvollere manier om dat soort snelheden te bereiken? Het was op dat moment zelfs de snelste Maserati ooit gebouwd. De Maserati Ghibli SS wordt geleverd inclusief Maserati Classiche certificaat. De Maserati Ghibli SS is mede dankzij de 4.9 liter motor wellicht de fijnste Maserati uit de jaren '70 en misschien wel de fijnste Maserati ooit gemaakt. Deze auto is klaar voor vele kilometers rijplezier zoals alleen een klassieke Italiaanse supercar dat kan bieden.
