Known History

The Lagonda Rapide, a brain child of David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin at the time, was meant as luxury transport for four, or, (as was the case with David Brown) the owner, his dogs and hunting gear. The car was exceedingly expensive and only 55 could ever be sold. Not many have survived unfortunately, with engines and other mechanical bits often finding their way into the more glamorous Aston Martin models. This right hand drive Rapide, was delivered in Newport Pagnell on the 5th December 1963. It is powered by the venerated 3.7 litre DOHC straight six (of DB4 lore) coupled to a automatic gearbox. The car, which has been driven a total of 108'500 Miles, is ź matching numbers ╗ and is well documented with articles in several books on Aston Martin. A large number of maintenance records from 1988 is available. The car is in very good and very original condition with old UK documents and the last Swiss MOT completed in January 2018.
