Known History

LANCIA AURELIA B20 IV SERIE - Anno 1957

Cod. RDS00093

On the occasion of the Turin Motor Show inaugurated on 2 April 1951, Lancia is showing the B20 to the public for the first time, a splendid high-performance coupé with an attractive “clean” line. Even if, at the time of launch, the B20 is approved for three people (all to be accommodated in the single front seat), it can be safely said that this new Aurelia, in fact, inaugurates a formula that will be enormously successful in the following twenty years. , that of the “2 seater plus 2 makeshift grand tourer”. We have reached 1957. By now the fate of the Aurelia seems to be marked: the car destined to succeed it, the Flaminia, is about to be placed on the market in the sedan version and it is reasonable to expect, sooner or later, a Gran Turismo version. However, the life of the B20 goes on, also because orders are not lacking. The last series of this glorious model was therefore born in the spring of 1957: in addition to a slight increase in power values (from 110 to 112 HP) and torque (from 17.2 to 17.5 kgm) which raise the threshold of maximum speed up to over 180 km / h, a myriad of minor improvements, mechanical and otherwise, of a secondary nature must be recorded.

Outwardly, the sixth series is recognized by the door deflectors (which did not exist in the previous series). This car has been totally restored and is in very good condition. Registered in the ASI historical register and in the Lancia historical register. Chassis 3825, therefore the eighth produced in the VI Series. 195 copies built. Booklet with pages, black plates.
