This 1967 Maserati Ghibli is one of 1,170 coupes produced and was sold new in Milan, Italy before being imported to the US, where it resided in Arizona from the late-1970s until the previous owner’s acquisition in the 1990s. The car was purchased as a project in 2001 by the seller, whose company, Vintage Exotics Competition Engineering, subsequently completed a cosmetic and mechanical restoration. Power is from the numbers-matching 4.7L quad-cam V8, which was rebuilt by Francorchamps in 1989 and stored in a crate until being installed during the restoration. A replacement five-speed manual transmission was sourced for the project, and additional work included a repaint in Giallo Fly, overhauling the differential, refreshing the black leather interior, and repairing the electrical system. Since completion of the restoration, this Tipo AM115 has been shown at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Concorso Italiano, and Palm Springs Concours d’Elegance. It is now offered in Tucson with a Maserati Certificate of Origin, photos and documents from the restoration, owner’s and service manuals, a tool kit, and a clean Arizona title.
