Known History

Presented in 1950 to succeed the Mark V, the new Mark VII offered a sober and elegant design, while its noble mechanicals derived from the XK120 made it a resolutely sporty car. With the M version, this specificity was even more emphasized since the 3.4L XK block upgraded to 190hp SAE and Jaguar was victorious at the 1956 Monte-Carlo rally thanks to this model!

The example offered was sold new in the UK and was registered on 25 March 1956. It is equipped with the optional Borg Warner automatic gearbox and offers a particularly harmonious colour combination: shiny black and red leather seats. The current owner bought it 18 years ago at a Poulain-Le Fur auction. The car was already in the good condition it is in today: the body is very sound and the interior is simply superb, with the weathered leather embellished by luxurious wood inserts and completed by a sunroof. The engine bloc is matching numbers, but a C type cylinder head has been fitted. In 2016, the braking system was overhauled and the engine was completely lubricated and drained. Subtle synthesis of elegance, luxury and sportiness, this Jaguar Mark VII will delight the gentleman driver who wishes to share his passion with his family.
