Known History

The Traction 11BL, also known as the "Light 11", differed from the 11B in terms of its shorter wheelbase and narrower track. As a result, especially for the cabriolet, it had more modest dimensions and only had room inside for two passengers (excluding the dicky) rather than three, as with the 11B.

The model presented here was sold at an auction held by Poulain-Le Fur in 2000 to a major collector of Tractions. The description at the time noted that it had been bought new by an artist in 1938; it then changed hands in 1956 and remained in the same family until 2000! In 2008, it was acquired by the father of the ladies who now own it. This genuine cabriolet was the subject of an older restoration. The body is sound and only a few minor faults need attention. The red leather upholstery, with matching carpets, is in good overall condition, while the hood is serviceable. The engine runs well and has been correctly set up, a note from the owner mentioning the careful maintenance work he carried out ahead of the rally season each year. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts. In March 2018, extensive work on the car included an overhaul of the front suspension, the renewal of the braking system and the replacement of the gearbox seals and clutch. At the same time, four Michelin tyres were fitted to the attractive Pilote wheels, which are correct for the 1938 model year. Well known to Traction specialists, this genuine cabriolet comes with a clear history and has been regularly maintained, making it an ideal choice
